socialmediaiphoneGoogle’s latest algorithm changes focus on how mobile-friendly your website is, or how it should be.
Many businesses still need to get their act together or they could suddenly stop appearing in Google’s search results.

This may be something that needs your attention.

But, shouldn’t we all have set up a mobile-friendly or mobile-optimised website by now? – It is 2015 after all.

I would suggest that a business looking to compete and stand out from their competition, ought to be looking even further ahead. To compete in the present day, we all have to find new ways to stay ahead of the game.

We spoke with David Lomas who heads up the team at M3 Media Publishing. They specialise in helping clients to attract customers using content marketing and social media engagement.

David said: “Most businesses that I first talk to, seem to be happy continuing to play ‘catch-up’ with the opposition – even after having heard this latest Google statement about getting mobile-friendly”.

He added: “I don’t understand this mentality, surely, they should be wanting to get ahead of their competition, not just trying to draw level? I work to make our clients stand out as being the best”.

Maybe we should take a leaf out of David’s book?

How do we adapt to ‘mobile’?

The best advice is always, ‘Speak to a good web developer’. There are some technical things that you need them to know about and of course, some SEO and Web guys will not be as good at as others. You want to find the good ones out there – which is really a matter of you first assessing and choosing the people that you need.

You need to ensure that they will handle you as an ‘individual’, and work on your specific web solution and not provide you with the same thing as all their other clients.

You want your website to be ‘individual’ and stand out. So, going for the cheapest website design or SEO is not, in my humble opinion, the way to success!

My advice is “You don’t want to be ‘as good’ as your competitors – you should want to be ‘better!’
